About the design

One of the shanty's time-honoured cures, illustrated: a snoozing sailor tucked up under a blanket in a little red rowing boat, drifting on the tide until he has sobered up. We have left out the rougher remedies.

It comes in two versions: dark lines for pale fabrics and light lines for dark fabrics, so it stays crisp whichever colour you pick.

The words come from the traditional sea shanty “Drunken Sailor”, which is in the public domain. A short history of the song.
